Dear praying friends,

We were just reading with the kids the story of Nehemiah, cupbearer to the king and the power of his prayer as he wept over Jerusalem.

As we have wept through the years over the billions of urban poor, it seems now is a season of answered prayer from the Lord.

But in the next three weeks we deeply need your prayers of protection.  I will be in India with four consultations.  Ieda will be for the second time in six weeks coping with the family.

In India I will

1.       Meet with the Servants international Leadership in Delhi

2.       Work with Viju Abraham and C.B. Samuel in training of urban poor workers in Mumbai.  A number have given gifts for scholarships for pastors.

3.       Meet with the national Urban Network leadership in Ahmedabad

4.       Spend a couple of days working on the framework of an MA for urban workers with an Indian team.

  5.  En route I will meet with a team in Bangkok who will handle the hosting of next years gathering of Urban poor Misison Leaders next July

Ieda has been enjoying opportunities to teach the word to different groups week by week.  This morning she arrived rejoicing having ministered to the hearts of a group of ladies of prayer.  We continue to pray for the fullness of open doors.  But these two weeks being a mother will be full time.

There was good fruit from the recent trip to the US.  60 workers returned from the urban trek and another 120 were in training in the slums of LA.  It was a privilege to challenge them to a lifetime of work among the urban poor.  Servant-Partners just took another group through long term orientation to a lifetime in the slums of churchplanting.

The Global Training Infrastructure for Urban Poor workers is developing dramatically.  It seems the Lord has his hand on this venture.  Pray for me in the hard work of connecting all the contributors, negotiationg with the Bible Schools and Universities and mastering the new technologies.  We need to see 10,000 trained in the next decade.

Thanks for your prayer.  If you are on this list by mistake, please let me know.  If it is a wrong e-mail, please let me know.  We just spent a month updating everything only to lose it all when I began this newsletter.  That is normative when we ask for prayer.  Do pray for us during these days of travel.
